Food Production Operative

Kinetic recruitment services are working in partnership with one of our clients to recruit full-time food production workers for their site based in Ashton-Under-Lyne.

This is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate with the earning potential being high!
This position is a short term position with potential of a long term position.

Food production and manufacturing experience is a must!

This role is a rotation of 2 weeks nights and 2 weeks days, all candidates MUST be able to work both days and nights.

Hours of work

Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday – 48 hours
Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday – 36 hours

Payrate for the first 12 consecutive weeks

* Standard hours £12.58 per hour
* Overtime Monday to Saturday £18.88 per hour
* Overtime Sundays and bank holidays £25.17 per hour

Payrate after completing 12 consecutive weeks

* Standard hours £14.91 per hour
* Overtime Monday to Saturday £22.38 per hour
* Overtime Sundays and bank holidays £29.85 per hour

The role

* Packing produce.
* Shrink wrapping produce into boxes.
* Operating high-speed production lines.
* Maximising output and yields.
* Ensuring all health and safety procedures are always adhered to.
* Maintaining product quality standards and helping them achieve their KPI’s.

Benefits

Technical Services Co-ordinator

We have a great opportunity for an experienced Technical Services Co-ordinator based at Hill Biscuits Limited, Ashton-under-Lyne, Manchester, OL7 0DB.

About the Role:

Reporting directly to the Technical Manager, you will ensure that products and processes achieve compliance to the business and customer expectations. Thus, comply with food safety and quality standards, with special focus on customer specifications, raw materials and supplier approval and artwork requirements.

You will support in technical activities to engage all site colleagues in quality and food safety improvements and initiatives.

Your duties will include (but not be limited to):

  • Providing the business, and its customers, with factory, internal raw material and customer specifications inclusive of artwork review
  • Approval of raw materials and suppliers
  • Managing procedures for introduction of raw materials and change of suppliers
  • Day to day maintenance of FSQM and Food Safety systems
  • Creation of ingredient declarations and nutritional calculations
  • Completion and circulation of specifications (internal and customer)
  • Approval of technical artwork in accordance with legal compliance including barcode generation
  • Customer queries
  • Factory documentation
  • Conducting internal systems audits ensuring compliance to Codes of Practice, relevant standards, and third-party audits (i.e. Customer Audits, BRCGS etc.)
  • Conducting gap analysis against Codes of Practice and relevant standards and support departments with close-out of actions
  • Support continual improvement plans
  • Ensure full document control of all documents relating to Food Safety


About you:

You will have experience of working within a similar role in manufacturing (FMCG), food manufacturing, specifically bakery, would be advantageous.

Your  attributes, skills, qualifications, and experience will include:

  • Food Safety Level 3
  • HACCP Level 3
  • Legal Labelling
  • Strong proven knowledge of BRCGS, Food Defence, GHP and GMP
  • Proven experience of building rapport, strong working relationships and an influential approach in teams across different locations
  • Ability to manage change
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to process data quickly and accurately
  • Commercial awareness
  • Proactive, enthusiastic, motivated, and accurate


It would be advantageous if you also have qualifications, and / or experience in:

  • Basic microbiology
  • Internal Auditor training
